About

Welcome 👋

Since repeatedly (and presently) getting in trouble for spilling paint on the carpet as a young 'un, and subsequently subscribing to the daredevil thrills of classical guitar, reading, painting and poetry, budding Australian creative Lylah Ellao has pursued and published creatively since. A recipient of several local and national writing awards from as early as 9, her work dapples in environmental and social concerns, documenting life and making things for others (no request is indoable), and of course, the imaginary.

Good to know

01

Back to the Drawing Board

For custom images, working from an image is the best way to go, and colour schemes, themes, places/cultural inspiration and inside jokes are welcomed with open arms. In some cases, I may produce 2-3 works using different mediums, styles or compositions for the choosing (obviously purchasing more than one entails an added price).

All in all, it's up to you! I want to make the project as close to the mental picture as possible.

03

The Almighty Print and Package

Pricing is determined from size and whether the piece is a print or original: A4s range from $20–40 (print: $15–30, canvas: $45–50), A3 and A2, $55–95 (print etc $40–95), and larger $128 onwards (originals negotiable around this range). Cards and tags will price similarly to A4 because of the specific cut and paper needs.

Pickup is preferred if possible, but I am happy to send (also gift-wrapped with a card as well) if needed adding the standard postal rate.

Depending on the kind of artwork, I may ask permission for it to be scanned and made into prints—particularly in the interest of just starting up as a business! If not, that is completely okay as well (you can be the sole proprietor of the original).

02

Working Time

A good equation is the bigger, the longer. Post, print and framing (if applicable) should be considered too.

8-27 hours for smaller works, and 30–60 hours (over a week or so) for the biggies.

When you make an inquiry, and throughout the production of the work, I'll keep you informed of traffic and demand, particularly where you may be on a waitlist.

04

Do Good

From a picture book made from a cardboard box to my low-mile, local premise, I try to keep the studio clean in every sense of the word. Many of my works are tied to not-for-profit organisations such as Riverkids in Cambodia, AussieArk Wildlife, and Albury's Volunteer Resource Bureau (VRB), and remainder of the price helps cover printing and good quality paints, pencils and paper, to help me keep doing what I do small scale.
